Mother: Betty Crowley, d 1718.
She'd made secret marriage with Henry, Duke of Gloucester (1640-1660), brother to Charles II, but he died before the marriage could be made known. She married Randolph Prease, Henry's friend.
That the child was probably Henry's is known, but the marriage is not.
